AVS Video Converter combines an easy profile-based video conversion option with a full-featured video editing tool. It can batch-convert any number of a wide range of video file types, while allowing you to add pro-looking video overlays and filters, as well as audio effects, in an intuitive timeline editor.

The output format selection, based on an extensive library of profiles, makes this tool suitable for all types of users regardless of their skills or experience in video conversion. These profiles are organized in three main types – codec-based, device-based, and Web-based profiles, covering all the most widely used video file formats, mobile devices, players, consoles, and online video-sharing sites. From MPEG and FLV to AVI or WebM, from Apple and Samsung to Android and BlackBerry mobile phones, and from YouTube to Vimeo, Facebook or Flickr, you will find it hard to spot a format, device, or website not supported by this tool. Besides, all of these profiles can be easily customized to build your own personal profiles, which you can save for later use. Strangely enough, no audio formats are supported, which leaves audio extraction out of the wide range of output possibilities.

The program doesn’t include a built-in video player, so you will need to double-click on any of the video files on the conversion list to watch it using your default media player. If you click on the “Edit” button, however, an impressive video editing tool will open in a new window. If you are already familiar with AVS Video Editor, you will feel immediately at home here. Otherwise, just follow its intuitive design, and you will be adding overlays, filters, and video and audio effects to your video files in no time. This full-featured video editor comes with its own player for you to preview the results in real time.

You can activate batch conversion to re-encode any number of video files into the last selected output format – mixed output is not supported – or activate the “split by chapters” or the “limit file size” options to slice large videos into smaller files.

AVS Video Converter is a serious alternative to many other similar tools. Its convenient profile-based output format selection, together with its full-featured video editor, make this tool stand out from many its competitors.
